Värikallio Winter Trail
Did you know that you can also visit the Värikallio paintings in winter?
In this case, the ice on Lake Somerjärvi allows you to explore the site up close. Fatbike cyclists, snowshoers, skiers (no trail) and walkers are all welcome – the trail is maintained from January to the end of April.
The trail is marked in the wild with orange paint markers and reflective signage at intersections. A snowmobile trail also runs alongside the area.
There is a dry toilet in the parking lot of the Meat Loop. There is also a cook shelter with a wood stove and a dry toilet at the Värikallio rock paintings.
