Suomussalmi Tourist Office

Suomussalmi Tourist Office, Visit Suomussalmi, is maintained by the municipality. It serves the tourists and locals the whole year round.

From the Tourist Office you can get brochures, maps of the area, and practical tips on how to make your stay in Suomussalmi successful. There are also brochures about other cities and National Parks in Finland.

The Tourist Office also gives assistance in planning trips for groups. It is possible to book an authorised guide, or a boat cruise to Turjanlinna, the home of a famous author Ilmari Kianto. The office also sells postcards, stamps, handcrafted jewelry, books about the Suomussalmi area, Hossa National Park maps and canoeeing guides.

The Tourist Office is located in Jalonniemi house, near the Suomussalmi center, along the National Highway 5. There is a free Wi-Fi connection available for visitors. In Jalonniemi there are electric vehicle charger points.
