Raate Guesthouse

Raate Guesthouse is a former border guard station located at the eastern end of Raatteen Museum Road, near the border with Russia.

In the outbuilding, there is the Kotirintama Museum.

In the adjacent row house, you can find the Rukajärvi exhibition and a small chapel.

Location:
At the eastern end of Raatteentie, 41 km east of Suomussalmi town center.

Directions:
From Suomussalmi center, drive 2.5 km south on road E63 (Highway 5), then turn left onto road 912 for 2 km, and continue left for 1.5 km. Next, turn right onto Kuhmontie and drive 15 km, then turn left onto road 9125 (Raatteen Museum Road) for 18 km. Raate Guesthouse is in the same yard as the Red Border Guard Museum at the eastern border.
