Jalonniemi-house

Jalonniemi-house is located in a wonderful spot on the shores of Lake Kiantajärvi, along the Finnish national road 5. The architectural design of the house was made by H Pyykkönen, an architectural office in Suomussalmi. The house is owned and built by the municipality of Suomussalmi. The opening ceremony was held on 30.6.1997. The architecture of the Jalonniemi House was inspired by nature, prehistory and ecology.
