Description

Log cabin from 1960s located on an island in the middle of the recreational area of Hossa. The only cabin on island, distance to shore 300 meters.

Spacious main room, three sleeping alcoves, kitchen and roomy porch with fire place. Wood-heated stove and electric heating. Water from the lake, drinking water from the nature centre or lake. Sauna in same building. Beach is suitable for swimming, boat and life-jackets (from Hossa Visitors Centre).

The cottage rental period starts at 4 pm and ends at 12 noon.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to long distances maintenance doesn’t check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented).
This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended.

KEYS: The keys to the cabin can be found in the key box by the door of the cabin. The code for the key box will be sent to your email on the day of arrival. If you do not receive an email, confirm the code by phone +358 (0)50 384 4692.

Distances: Hossa Visitor Centre, where exhibition, café-restaurant, equipment rental, foodstuff etc. 5 km. Hotel 1 km (rowing). Trade at Juntusranta 32 km.

Additional services: Bed linen, guided tours, rent boats, kayaks, camping- and fishing equipment.

90 km of marked hiking trails, 60 km of skiing tracks and nature pathways. Excellent swimming possibilities and grounds for running, skiing and orienteering. Hossa Nature Centre and salmon ponds are reachable by wheelchairs. Sightseeing: Värikallio rock-paintings, structures related to reindeer husbandry and Lounatkoski Mill.
