The memorial of Tuppuri

During the Continuation war in 1941-1944 The Soviet partisans attacked eastern Finnish villages and homes causing chaos. They attacked in Tuppuri in June 26th 1943 to home where lived a father with four children. 15- and 13 year old daughters managed to escape from a window they broke but the father and a 17 year old son were brutally killed. The other son was hostaged and he never came back.

In the memorial there are names of the victims – a father and two sons.
