Pesiö Hiking Trail

The trail is marked on the trees with blue landmarks and is 8 km long in one direction. By car, you can drive near the camping structures in Yli-Julma side.

Along the route there is a shelter, two fireplaces and 3 dry toilets.

There is no winter maintenance on the trail.

The Pesiö hiking trail can be accessed from two different starting points.

There are two main departures from the Pesiön trail:

Kyllösenpalo car park, Losontie 37:

From Suomussalmi centre, drive north on Viitostie for about 7 km. Turn left onto Joukokyläntie and drive for about 11 km. Turn left into Asematie and drive 600 m. Turn right into Losontie and drive about 3,7 km.

Yli-Julma parking lot, Majaanjoentie 41:
From Suomussalmi centre, drive north on Viitostie for about 7 km. Then turn left onto Joukokylänantie for about 21 km. Finally, turn left into Majaanjoentie and drive 4.1 km.
